Salvatore

Salvatore, known as Seiji (セイジ) in Japanese, is a character in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, serving as the language teacher at Naranja Academy/Uva Academy and the homeroom teacher for the humanities track. He is friendly, optimistic, and loving. His classes emphasize the importance of communication to help people understand each other's feelings and de-escalate conflict. For instance, he shares his experience of quickly apologizing and expressing care after a fight with his wife. Besides speaking multiple languages, he demonstrates how Pokémon communicate through body language, using a Pikachu as an example. In a bond event, he adopts an injured Pawmi, nursing it back to health. Although the Pawmi remains quiet even after recovery, he realizes it is simply its personality and accepts it. With the player’s encouragement, he decides to keep the Pawmi, which then speaks for the first time. He rewards the player with a Galarian Meowth. Salvatore also participates in the Academy Ace Tournament. The Pokémon franchise, also known as Pocket Monsters, is a multimedia series including video games, anime, manga, and trading card games. It originated from a concept by Satoshi Tajiri of GAME FREAK, with the first games, Pokémon Red and Green, released by Nintendo on the Game Boy in 1996. The Pokémon world is set in a universe where humans coexist with creatures called Pokémon, with players taking on the role of a Pokémon Trainer, aiming to collect Pokémon and participate in battles. As of January 2024, there are 1,025 Pokémon species.
