Marley (Japanese: マイ Mai) is a Pokémon Trainer from the Pokémon series, known for specializing in Pokémon with high Speed. In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Marley is one of the few Trainers who can partner with the main character, first appearing in the Victory Road area accessible after obtaining the National Pokédex. She is quiet and worries about accidentally hurting others with her words. Marley is fond of Shaymin and hopes to meet it at the end of Route 224. She likes that Shaymin conveys gratitude without using words. She uses Pokémon with high Speed stats in the Battle Tower. In the anime, Marley debuted in 'Keeping In Top Forme!', where she was rescued by Brock and met Ash and friends. She was protecting an injured Shaymin and helping it reach a flower field. In the manga 'Pokémon Adventures,' Marley battles Buck in the Battleground and possesses Oak's Letter. She later pleads for Shaymin's help on Route 224 and enters the Distortion World with it.
