Fennel

Fennel (Japanese: マコモ Makomo) is a non-player character in the core series Pokémon games, first appearing in the Generation V games Pokémon Black and White. She is a friend of Professor Juniper and specializes in the study of Pokémon Trainers and Pokémon dreams. She is sometimes referred to as Dr. Fennel. In the games, she is first mentioned in Accumula Town and later encountered in Striaton City, where she gives the player important items, including HM01 (Cut) and the C-Gear. She also guides players to the Pokémon Dream World. Fennel runs a research facility with Amanita in Castelia City, researching the energy of dreams. In the anime, Fennel has also made appearances, such as in 'Dreams by the Yard Full!', where she and her Munna research dream energy and meet Ash and his friends. Fennel is a bright and gentle-natured scientist, passionate about scientific discoveries, but also cautious about the ethical conflicts arising from her research. She is college friends with Professor Juniper and Professor Burnet, and they shared an interest in studying dreams.
