Leroy Smith

Leroy Smith (リロイ・スミス) is a playable character in the Tekken series, first appearing in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. He remains a significant character in Tekken 8. Leroy is an American martial artist specializing in Wing Chun. He was a victim of New York street violence, losing his entire family to gang violence as a young boy. This experience deeply affected him and led him to travel the world, eventually learning Wing Chun in Hong Kong. Years later, upon learning that New York was still under the control of gangs, he returned home and single-handedly destroyed them. During his quest for revenge, he discovered that the Mishima Zaibatsu was behind it all, leading him to participate in the King of Iron Fist Tournament to seek retribution. Leroy is a resilient and determined martial artist, driven by justice but also by revenge. His fighting style is characterized by his unique stances, parries, and lightning-fast counter-attacks. He is formidable in close-quarters combat, excelling with fast, multi-hit attacks like the 'Chain Punches.' His move 'Twin Dragon Gate' can parry both high and low attacks, making him a dangerous opponent. He is always seen wearing black sunglasses and using a cane, which are not only his personal traits but also potentially related to injuries he sustained in his childhood. In Tekken 8, Leroy remains determined to fight the Mishima Zaibatsu and works with his dog, Sugar, to restore peace to the world.
