Shaheen (Arabic: شاهين Shahin, Japanese: シャヒーン Shahīn) is a character in the Tekken series, first introduced in Tekken 7 as a playable character and returning in Tekken 8. He learned the art of fighting from a young age from his father. Thirteen years ago, he saved a boy named Salim, who became his lifelong best friend. Salim encouraged Shaheen to use his skills to protect others and invited him to be his bodyguard. Shaheen later joined the army, known for his exceptional one-on-one combat abilities, and then a private military company. When Salim died mysteriously, Shaheen investigated, discovering that Salim's company was acquired by G Corporation and suspecting Salim's death was not accidental. To avenge his friend and fight against G Corporation's tyranny, Shaheen decided to participate in the King of Iron Fist Tournament. Shaheen is calm, collected, and has a strong sense of justice, believing revenge is not the answer. In Tekken 8, his fighting style is described as straightforward and fundamental, utilizing his full crouch mix-up and excellent poke moves to control space, and more effective use of the grey health mechanic while in Heat. He's also considered easy to pick up but requires a solid foundation to fully utilize his potential.
