Kuma
Kuma, in the Tekken series, is the name of two characters, both of whom are bears and bodyguards to Heihachi Mishima. The first Kuma is the father of Kuma II, and he appeared in Tekken and Tekken 2. Kuma is described as a cub found abandoned in the forests of the Mishima estate by Heihachi Mishima. Heihachi took him in, and as Kuma grew, he began to display superior intelligence. Heihachi started training him, teaching him sign language, fighting techniques, and basic Japanese. Due to Kuma's impressive abilities, Heihachi made him his bodyguard. Kuma participated in the first King of Iron Fist Tournament, where he was defeated by Paul Phoenix. Afterward, Kuma trained with Heihachi in a mountain dojo to grow stronger, seeking revenge in the second tournament but was defeated again. The first Kuma passed away from old age sometime after the second tournament. In Tekken 8, Kuma is still a member of the Mishima Zaibatsu's special forces, Tekken Force, and acts as Heihachi's pet.
