Kisume

Kisume (キスメ) is a character from the Touhou Project series, first appearing as the midboss of Stage 1 in Touhou Chireiden ~ Subterranean Animism. She is a Tsurube-otoshi youkai who usually resides in a bucket. Kisume is introverted, fond of small spaces, and often found in caves or wells. Despite limited official information, she's portrayed as somewhat childish, yet possessing cruel and violent tendencies. She has the ability to manipulate will-o'-the-wisps and attacks with vertically dropping danmaku. In the game, she frequently ambushes the player by suddenly dropping from above. Though she doesn't have many appearances, Kisume also appeared in Double Spoiler as a photography target and has been mentioned in The Grimoire of Marisa, where she has some connection to a bone incident. Kisume is depicted with pale skin, dark teal pigtails tied with white hair beads, and she is always sitting in a brown bucket. Her name is written in katakana, which author ZUN said was to give it an old feel and to prevent her from seeming too strong by using kanji.
