Emolga (Japanese: エモンガ Emonga) is a dual-type Electric/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation V. It resembles a flying squirrel, with a white body, a black back and tail, and yellow electric sacs on its cheeks. Emolga generates electricity in its cheek pouches and stores it in its wing-like membranes, discharging it while gliding. It inhabits treetops and glides between trees using its membranes. Emolga uses its electrical abilities to ward off bird Pokémon, ensuring it can have food to itself. This Pokémon is particularly fond of sweet berries and sometimes has difficulty flying due to its cheeks being full of food. Emolga has made various appearances in the Pokémon anime, such as one owned by Ash's companion Iris. Emolga does not evolve and belongs to the Electric rodent Pokémon group, similar to Pikachu and other Pokémon. It appears in various Pokémon games, possessing unique abilities and stats. Despite its cute appearance, it can sometimes be mischievous and cause trouble due to its gluttonous nature.
