Aurorus

Aurorus (Japanese: アマルルガ Amaruruga) is a dual-type Rock/Ice Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It evolves from Amaura when leveled up at night starting at level 39. Aurorus is a large, quadrupedal Pokémon resembling a sauropod dinosaur, with a light blue body and a teal underside. It has icy gems along its sides, a long, curled tail, and two large, flowing, aurora-like membranes on its head that can change color depending on its mood. Aurorus can emit freezing air as cold as -150 degrees Celsius from the crystals on its body, allowing it to create ice walls or encase enemies in ice. It inhabits cold, tundra regions and is able to endure freezing temperatures due to antifreeze proteins in its blood. Aurorus's cry is said to be associated with the appearance of auroras, and when enraged, it emits freezing air to cover everything around it in ice. Aurorus is based on a sauropod dinosaur, particularly the Amargasaurus. Its head membranes resemble auroras, aligning with its Ice-type. It is often seen as the counterpart to Tyrantrum, with both having design elements related to royalty, but Aurorus leans more towards a 'queen' concept.
