Bramblin (Japanese: アノクサ, Anokusa) is a dual-type Grass/Ghost Pokémon introduced in Generation IX. It resembles a tumbleweed, with its body formed from amber-colored thorns. It has small, rhombic, black, leaf-like eyes with thin red pupils that float inside its body. Bramblin moves by being blown by the wind. It is formed when wandering souls that cannot move on become tangled with dried grass. Bramblin dislikes wet environments and inhabits dry, rocky regions like deserts. Bramblin evolves into Brambleghast by leveling up after walking 1000 steps using the Let's Go! feature. Bramblin is the only known Pokémon with the Wind Rider Ability, which boosts its Attack stat when Tailwind is in effect or when hit by a wind-based move. Bramblin's design is based on tumbleweeds; its eyes look like tumbleweed seeds, and the two thorns on its sides give the impression of devil horns. Its cry is said to sound like the whistling at the start of the theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Its drifting nature may be a reference to the drifter archetype in Western films. Its name may be a combination of bramble and rambling, goblin or gremlin. Anokusa, its Japanese name, may be derived from the phrase ano kusa, which means “that grass.”
