How to Train Your Dragon is a British/American media franchise from DreamWorks Animation, loosely based on the eponymous book series by British author Cressida Cowell. The franchise consists of three animated feature films: How to Train Your Dragon (2010), How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014), and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019), along with five short films and several television series. The franchise primarily follows the adventures of a young Viking named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, son of Stoick the Vast, leader of the Viking island of Berk.
